North Port Office Now Open Full Time
NORTH PORT NEURO CHALLENGE FOUNDATION INC., FOR PARKINSON’S NOW OPEN FULL TIME
June 24 – North Port, FL – The Neuro Challenge Foundation, Inc., for Parkinson's (NCF) is now open - full time - in North Port. In a continuing effort to share more about Parkinson’s disease (PD) and the NCF mission in North Port, Carisa Campanella, NCF Care Coordinator, over the weekend, welcomed a full house of North Porters, who were also able to get a better idea of services now available full-time. NCF, a Sarasota based non-profit, opened its North Port office in 2013 and has since served roughly 230 people. The office, managed by Campanella, is the go-to place to for North Porters in need of connecting with services that can aid people with PD.
Saturday's meeting, held in the North Port Library's Guiliano room, was attended by those coming to learn how to help loved ones who live with Parkinson's, while others wanted to broaden their knowledge of the disease they now live with. One guest, whose husband suffers from PD, said that she was glad that help was a now much closer to her Englewood home. Campanella, as well as other NCF staff, aim to seek out the best available services that can aid PD sufferers in their quest to live the best life possible, with resources that are available in North Port. Campanella personally visits local facilities, to check out staff quality, friendliness, cleanliness, and suitability of programs for people with PD. Campanella and Angela Abu Eita, Neuro Challenge Public Relations Specialist, have also been working with local media and organizations to inform locals of ongoing events. In Sarasota proper, Jennifer Williams, Care Advisor, does the same work as Campanella, having served hundreds of patients in the gulf coast city.
"The need for services for PD'ers is enormous," says Campanella. "Sarasota is blessed with an abundance of health services for people with PD and we hope to achieve a measure of that, here in North Port," says Abu Eita. "By doing so, we also support the development of the local economy by bringing more activity to those local businesses who can serve PD families."
